Blurb: Lifestyles, Dodge ball & A Box of Hard Candy

“The modernists started with the assumption that science is the only source of sure knowledge, that nature is all there is, and thus that morality is merely a human invention that can be changed to meet changing circumstances in an evolving world.” Charles Colson

The era of federally crafted parental controls finds another way to shut the parent out of their children’s life. Maybe the federal government should muster up some tax dollars and mandate all children under the age of 26 to spend their time in a plastic bubble and watch Richard Simmons 24/7. I find it funny and quite sad that we the people voluntarily vote away our rights to guardian or parent our children. The federal government is basically saying that we don’t know what we are doing when it comes to living our lives.

Recently in the City of Brotherly Love, some bright inspiring legislator thought it would be a great idea to start handing out condoms to 11 year old males, since a recent study uncovered that 25% of those surveyed were engaging in sexual activity. Like Planned Parenthood and their attack on the unborn, now we have a group that is encouraging kids, because that is what they are…kids, to engage in sex at such a young age before they even know and understand what love is. The parent(s) are the last to find out. When are parents going to put the boot down?

Common sense would tell you, which parents across the nation have abandoned and left in the grip of the ever expanding federal government to keep the parents best intention in mind when giving 11 year old KIDS condoms, that is what they are kids, posses a bigger problem than that of giving kids toys in the ‘Happy Meal’.

Now we turn our attention to The Center for Science in the Public Interest. A group made up of behavior control freaks that would want nothing more than having the toy in Happy Meals removed because it encourages obesity. This group wants to force McDonalds hand in removing the toy from their meal by means of suing them. I can speak of my own account. We child and I sometimes go to the Golden Arches for lunch. Of course the little one wants a Happy Meal. What is nice these days is they do offer a healthy selection for the child. We usually get chicken nuggets, apple slices, and milk. Now, that doesn’t sound too unhealthy does it? Well according to this group McDonalds is in violation of the consumer protection laws in four states and one district. Much like Obamacare is in violation of consumer protection laws.

Parents know what is right (healthy) and wrong (unhealthy) when it comes to living. Parents know that if you give a child a box of hard candy, the child will eat the whole box. So what does a parent do when sending their child to school no long entails them playing dodge ball, tag or red rover? Should parents feel that their kids are now safer because the court system of the Great State of New York stepped in? People act as if you were to put foam bumpers up on every corner of the house and throughout the entire school a child will not get hurt. Parents are scorned if their child is caught riding a bicycle without a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads, but the child could fall off this two wheel machine and impale their eye on a stick. So are we going to require children in order to ride a bike will have to wear goggles? Absurd!

So in closing, it is not okay for kids to eat ‘Happy Meals’, but it is okay for kids to get condoms without their parents consent and engage in sexual activity. With kids being pushed to act in an irresponsible manner, then the results will reflect. Higher STD reports in later stages of the disease will wipe out a good percent of our youth. Bottom line, parents need not be afraid to parent. It takes courage and drive. God bless Our Great Nation.
